Emma's First Puppy Blog!

Finally, and at long last, my first puppy blog entry! As stated above in the title, my name is Emma. I am a newlywed, new homeowner, professionaly employed and a new mom to our puppy "Ruby". Do you think I've taken on too much? So do I. It is great but always an adventure! In addition to being Ruby's mom, I previously worked in the pet industry while in school. Through this blog, I can hopefully pass along some knowledge to you. A bit of education will be mixed in with stories about my favorite puppy! Speaking of that, I almost forgot...a little introduction to "The Ru" as we call her. She is five months old Rat Terrier/Pomeranian mix. We adopted her in December from a rescue group at a local pet supply store. My husband is actually the one that found her and he fell in love the minute he laid eyes on her. We weren't planning on adopting a dog so soon after we got married but Ruby melted his heart.

Ruby is currently teething, and most of her teeth have fallen out. It's actually making our 4 year old human friend Lily a little jealous-she doesn't think it's fair that Ruby's teeth are falling out before hers! Sorry Lily your time will come! A little advice...give your puppies plenty to chew on and keep fresh water available. Otherwise, your pup will turn your sofa into an oversized chew toy. A few of Ru's favorites are N-Bone Puppy Teething Treats and Free Range Bully Sticks. Having these around are good for her teeth and satisfy her urge to chew while preserving my couch and sanity in the process.

In closing today, I wanted to let you know about this weekend. I am pretty excited! FidoDogTreats will be making it's first appearance at the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show, and Ruby will hopefully be coming along! (I think once Ruby gets there, she will be pretty excited too-ahh the dog smells!) Stop by the Fidodogtreats.com table and say hi to Ruby and I.
