Emma's First Puppy Blog!

Ruby!

Finally, and at long last, my first puppy blog entry! As stated above in the title, my name is Emma. I am a newlywed, new homeowner, professionaly employed and a new mom to our puppy "Ruby". Do you think I've taken on too much? So do I. It is great but always an adventure! In addition to being Ruby's mom, I previously worked in the pet industry while in school. Through this blog, I can hopefully pass along some knowledge to you. A bit of education will be mixed in with stories about my favorite puppy!

Puppy Blog-Ruby Under the Couch

My Puppy Ruby

So as usual, I was running late this morning....and of course, Ruby ran to her new favorite hiding place, underneath the couch. I am telling you, that puppy is good...she is just big enough to army crawl underneath. I've tried it all. Talking sweetly to her, offering treats, nothing works. I can hear you all saying, "Just move the couch and grab her". Doesn't work, she is way too smart for that. I move the couch out and she moves with it. I offer a treat, she isn't interested. (Maybe I haven't hit on the right one yet though). She is much more interested in the game involved.

Just a thank you and hello to everyone we met at the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show...What a great weekend! Thanks to all of you who came up and introduced yourselves to us. It's always great to meet fellow dog lovers in person. At the request of several people we met this weekend, we added Grain-Free Dog Treats as a new category under "Shop By Type". This is the perfect place for pups with grain allergies to find a favorite treat. Remember, if you have any questions about treats, please ask Matt, our "Dog Treat Expert".

Today was a big day for little Ruby. She just turned six months old which means she was finally ready to be spayed! After our usual morning walk, I dropped her off at the vet’s office before heading to work. I think she knew something was up when we pulled into the parking lot as I could tell she was getting a little nervous. Although she was scared, I knew I was leaving her in good hands. Everyone at our vet’s office is so gentle and they truly care for their patients as if they are their own.

Emma's Puppy Blog- Taking Ruby for a Walk-Help!

Spring is in the air! With the weather finally starting to break, people (and their dogs) are venturing outdoors more and more. However this increased sidewalk traffic has posed a new predicament for Ruby...meeting new friends. Until now we haven’t really come across many dogs in the neighborhood but it has recently become a daily occurrence. I am proud to say that she is handling it quite well and shows a lot of friendly excitement and curiosity toward others.
