Emma's Puppy Blog- Taking Ruby for a Walk-Help!

Spring is in the air! With the weather finally starting to break, people (and their dogs) are venturing outdoors more and more. However this increased sidewalk traffic has posed a new predicament for Ruby...meeting new friends. Until now we haven’t really come across many dogs in the neighborhood but it has recently become a daily occurrence. I am proud to say that she is handling it quite well and shows a lot of friendly excitement and curiosity toward others.

I'm definitely looking forward to working with Ruby even more on the leash this spring. Admittedly, she doesn’t have the best manners but has shown improvement in the last month or so. She seems to do much better while wearing her harness and kept on a shorter lead but she still prefers to walk more in a zig-zag motion than a straight line. I can only imagine what people must be thinking when they see me twisting and jumping to avoid being tripped or tangled in the leash! I'm pretty sure it's just going to take some patience and practice but please chime in if you have any tips or advice!
